 Headway Coventry and Warwickshire is part of the largest charity supporting people living with ABI. We run support groups across North Warwickshire and are looking to expand our support services in 2021.

 During the pandemic we have supported more people online in virtual support groups and through 1-2-1 telephone and online support.

We are now looking for new trustees to  help us reach more people across the County. You will join a small, friendly and committed team of people dedicated to making life better for those with ABI.

The members have been having a great time catching up with each other, playing some games and even doing some creative writing as well as some meditation.

40 different activities, 40 different types of hats

Headway is 40 this year and anyone can do a 40 challenge for headway….so…

My challenge is to do 40 different activities wearing 40 different types of hats…e.g. wheelchair climbing, cycling, etc. all in the different types of helmets and hats, also swimming hat for swimming, and fancy hat to a fancy event (need to get myself invited to a fancy event)

The aim is to raise awareness of headway, fundraise for headway Coventry and Warwickshire, but for each hat I actually need to do a relevant activity.

My challenge will start from hats for headway day May 24th 2019 and my aim is to raise money for headway Coventry and Warwickshire members to have art therapy workshops to help to promote creativity, enjoyment and help on the journey of learning to live with our brain injuries in everyday life. A fundraising page will be set up shortly.

We are looking for a Contractor that possesses appropriate experience of the brain injury community to;

• to support and manage our Support Groups throughout Coventry and Warwickshire
• to support and manage the hospital visit programme
• to ensure we have sufficient and trained volunteers to provide the services
• to maintain the member’s data-base

The contractor must;

• have empathy and be hands on in terms of managing and problem solving
• be creative, enthusiastic and energetic
• have at least 5 million public liability insurance in place

This contract is for an initial 12-month period and will report directly into the Director and will be co-opted onto the Committee and be expected to attend the Committee Meetings.

This is an initial 12-month contract and will be subject to a 3-month probationary period and a enhanced DBS check.

This is for an average of 15 hours per week across the year at a rate of £9600 per annum
